The West Ferris Ringette Association will be holding a "Come Try Ringette for Free" event Saturday, September 15th at 3pm at Pete Palangio Arena.
Parents are invited to bring their kids to try the most exciting game on ice in the city where it all began.
Coaches and ringette players will be on hand to help players learn the basics of the game.
Players are asked to bring skates and a helmet to the free session. Registration will also be available.
Free equipment will be made available for every new player who registers.
New players can register for the 2012/2013 season for only $50.
ABOUT RINGETTE
Ringette was invented in 1963 in North Bay, Ontario by Sam Jacks. The sport was developed to combine speed, accuracy and strategy and encourage team play. Ringette is now played across Canada and associations have been formed in United States, Finland, Sweden, Russia and France.
2013 marks the 50th Anniversary of the creation of Ringette. The World Ringette Championships will be held in North Bay to recognize the milestone.
